Criteria & Guidelines

If you’re thinking about applying to trade at Second Sundays, take a look through our useful guidelines and criteria. Our ambition is to become the best monthly market in Hampshire.

Second Sundays market values

Inclusive – the artisan market welcomes traders and visitors from different communities. There will be food and artisan goods available to suit all.  The market aims to give back to communities, bring people together and celebrate Andover as a great place to live, work and visit.

Planet positive – always aware of protecting our surrounding countryside, the river and keeping our town centre a clean and pleasant environment to be in. We must ensure all traders attending the market avoid using plastic wherever possible, and that goods are sustainably sourced, from local suppliers.

High quality across the board – the market aims for high standards in every aspect. Every sign matters, the appearance of every stall matters. The friendliness of staff and volunteers matters. The market and all the food will look exciting and appealing from a distance, and carefully considered up close, and the produce available will be delicious across the board. We are looking for unique, handmade goods, rather than those that are imported or mass-produced. We want to showcase true crafters from the local area who can demonstrate expertise and knowledge in their field.

By Andover, for Andover – we will prioritise local suppliers, who fit with our trading criteria, and will create opportunities for and nurture start-ups. We will endeavour to work with businesses who may not meet the market trading criteria at first, to help them reach our requirements in order to go on to trade at the market.

Our focus is on quality over quantity

  • If you are looking to become a regular stall holder at Second Sundays we recommend that you visit our market to get an understanding of what's on offer and the type of traders we book.
